FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Show - I knew you wouldn't let me down. *HUGS* you

(probably more blather later... just riding the high I've waited 11 episodes for....)

*more dancing* *pops the champagne cork* *smiles a ridiculous amount*
11th-Dec-2010 12:56 pm (UTC)
LOL! YEAH!!! Now THAT'S how I love to see you after an episode. Not even the need for the "enjoy the ride" icon. YAY!!! ^_^ \o/

11th-Dec-2010 01:12 pm (UTC)

I am SO EXCITED about this episode. I can't remember being so god damn PLEASED!!

Probably the thing I loved the most was that it made sense of Sam up until now. That was my biggest fear. But it worked for me and when I manage to make sense of my thoughts I'll write it all down.

But yeah. God, I love coming off an ep happy. And as much of a Sam!girl I am... Dean won my heart in this ep! He is my god damn HERO!

Sorry! See? Still high! \o/

No need for the ride icon now (though I'm sure I will need it in the future!!)

*twirls you and dances with you in "Happy SPN Heaven". ^_^
11th-Dec-2010 02:04 pm (UTC)
*dances with you with happy joy*

And then we settle back in and see where the rest of this road is gonna go. It's gonna be a fine ride...

11th-Dec-2010 02:20 pm (UTC)
*twirls you*!!!!

See, the thing I love about this show is that they friggin' tug and tug at the heart strings for 10 episodes and then WHAM! they give you something to hang on to!

No doubt, they will find a way to tug and tear some more at our hearts but at least we should have the full Sammy! (With some issues no doubt ... I am so curious to know how he'll react to what he did as soulless!Sam...)

At least I CAN relax a bit over the hellatus and enjoy the ride when it returns...

SHOW!!!!!!!!!! \o/

Was it Sam getting his soul back that has you happy or the episode itself? I can understand being pleased that Robo!Sam is no more. But I didn't think the episode itself was well put together (as you can tell from my post! *g*).
11th-Dec-2010 04:11 pm (UTC)
Yes - Sam getting his soul back was a major plus but I thought there was a lot more as well.

I actually found the pacing pretty solid. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I think mainly because I really loved Death and was completely engaged with all his scenes. As I was with Bobby and Sam.

But mostly it was (for me because of the way I have been reading Sam up until now...) it cemented why Sam has been acting the way he has up until now. Well at least in part.

But yeah - I am mostly beyond thrilled that AT LAST we might get some proper Sam story.

I suppose if I had a negative it would be that this episode came almost too suddenly. I think in 10 eps they could have prepared for this one a lot better.

I've typed up my proper ep reaction which I will post later - and that has mostly what I loved about the episode.

I'll go back and read your reaction better now. I made my comment straight off the ep and worried about that other thing instead of concentrating...

I think I'm still babbling..

11th-Dec-2010 04:12 pm (UTC)
It's Saturday. Babbling is allowed. ;-)
11th-Dec-2010 04:23 pm (UTC)
Hee! And for me it's Sunday 12.17 in the morning... so yeah... I'm blabbling all right...

And I just went back and read your review and I agree with a lot of what you said. Dean giving in so soon had me yelling at the screen (I did that a couple of times!)... but I could see how desperate he was to stop the chain of events, so I bought it. Sam's soul was very important but (and this is typical of Dean I think..) not for the sake of other people's lives.

Right... I think sleep now. Or maybe I'll unlock my review post... decisions, decisions...

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm very happy with Sam having his Soul back, but had issues with the way the episode played out and also HOW he got his Soul back. (Seemed way too easy to just have Death go and fetch it for them even after Dean lost the bet)

But still full of squee that he's got it again.
11th-Dec-2010 07:35 pm (UTC)
Oh yeah! I missed our Sam big time. It just seemed like it could have been handled better.

Haven't had my morning coffee yet, so I'm gonna copy what I wrote elsewhere:

I loved last night's SPN episode. I love Death and Tessa! I'm not one of the huge Balthasar fans yet--I think he has to grow on me. Or perhaps it's because he was introduced in one of the S6 episodes that so had me doubting my SPN love, so therefore a new S6 character was colored for me by that. *shrugs*

There was so much tension in last night's episode. And I found myself thinking that Jared as Robo!Sam would make an outstanding horror film killer. I truly believed he would kill Bobby and I actually thought the ep might go that way. And/or have Death!Dean show up and have to chose between killing Bobby or taking off the ring and losing the chance of getting Sam back. And I love Death. Seriously great character (and actor).

(back to real time commenting...!)

I loved Dean and Tessa's scenes together. I had a feeling that nurse was gonna pay the price for Dean's decision to not take the girl. Honestly just the whole storyline with Dean as Death was great. Although I did find myself wondering if there was only 1 Death and Death had to touch someone before they could be reaped, how did Death possibly handle the volume of world-wide deaths? And what was happening while Dean was Death to all the other people in the world whose time was up? But I shrugged that off because I was just enjoying it so much.

That scene where Dean and Sam were looking at each other through the panic room window was just...guh! For a moment I wondered if Dean had finally come to the place where he could and would kill Sam (by putting Death's ring back on.) And I truly felt like Sam was a truly different person at that moment--someone who could kill Bobby (and Dean) and someone who Dean could put-down as an unhuman being. Ung!

And then Death popping up with his black bag. Sam's soul was just specular looking! I actually smiled because I felt like I could feel Sam in it. (What? I'm not totally over-invested in this show, am I?) I kept looking at the time during that ending scene and realized they were gonna cut it off just at the best part! ;)

Excellent point about Death. And I suppose we are not meant to think too hard about it - which is silly because OF COURSE we are going to think about these things. It would have been nice if they gave us a reason about that. There are thousands of deaths occurring simulateaneously all over the world... so yeah. Did people stop dying for a while??

For a moment I wondered if Dean had finally come to the place where he could and would kill Sam

Interesting thought. Dean messed up the order of things by bringing Sam back initially - maybe he did think that he "right" that by killing him now. Though I think Dean would always find a reason not to kill Sam...

I can't believe Sam almost killed Bobby. I wonder what he will think of that when he looks back on his soulless! time.

Very glad you are chock full of squee! I am glad to have Sam back whole, but I saw many problems present themselves in this episode. I was afraid that would dampen some squee. So glad most people are in good spirits about it all.

I'm more disappointed in it from a story telling angle. But it's more because I like to see the characters win their own victory. I'm not a fan of a more powerful character swooping in and saying "Ok, here you go. Here's what'll fix the problem"

That said, I don't think all their problems are just fixed. There's going to me much to face still I think.

Hopefully with Sam having his Soul back there can be some healing starting between the Bros and with Bobby... But that fragile seeming Wall has me a bit nail-bitey of what's to come.
12th-Dec-2010 01:21 am (UTC)
Hee! I am indeed chock full of squee.... \o/

And no worries about dampening squee. I know people saw problems in the ep and I'm sure that when I digest it all I will too. And I'm pretty damn sure if Sam didn't get his soul back I would not be nearly as squeeful... in fact, I would be down right pissed!!

However... squee it is.

I have to say I don't mind when they have to get the big guns involved. I mean sure - it's a cop out, but at least Dean had a major part to play in getting Death to do it. (as opposed to Sam having none what so ever in saving Dean.. :(((( )

And I'm pretty damn sure not all their problems are fixed. In fact... no way. Sam will have issues, (and guilt maybe? curious to know what they do with him now)....there's still the alphas to contend with, the war in heaven, Sampa, etc. etc. So yeah... lots to work on but for me at least the story can continue with Sam. That has been the singular most difficult thing for me this season. I've really enjoyed it... but yeah, no Sam made this fangirl very edgy...
