Graphics Post: You HAVE to rush over and check out the fabulous artwork maichan has made for this vid. Simply awesome. Also.. see if you can spot the other posters she's used on the walls. ;)

As usual I have some wonderful people to thank for making this happen.

maichan Not only for the incredible movie posters, but for help with the music suggestions, sound editing, the opening and closing titles and for editing the movie transitions. I'm feel blessed to be able to collaborate once again with her. *heffa hugs* hun and THANK YOU!
_sharvie_ My ever faithful and wonderful beta. Thanks as always for your insightful suggestions and great ideas. *mega smish*
deirdre_c For listening to my ideas in the beginning and for suggesting "arthouse" as a theme. I probably had the most fun editing that section *g*. And for your valuable feedback. *glomps on you*

Vid notes

I've been toying with the idea of doing a follow up to Supernatural: At the Movies for a while. When spn_cinema announced their movie prompts challenge it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get off my butt and start making it.

The concept is the same as my first one. I'm inspired by the way the Show homages movie genres and the way it blatantly "borrows" from actual movies. My aim is to capture elements of each style or genre and showcase them by editing them together.

I claimed Psycho because I remember the episode "Wishful Thinking" homaging the shower scene so wonderfully. I wanted to retell Hitchcock's film Supernatural style. :)

No money made but comments are always gratefully (and warmly) accepted.

My turn to thank you for the opportunity to work on this! I really love how this one turned out, the Saminator and zombie sequences especially. And of course, the last segment never fails to make me smile for days :D

It's been a lot of fun. As always... *g*

I'm glad you like those segments particularly. The Saminator posters always makes me *guh* I seriously need that one on my wall! well, actually I need them ALL on my wall.

*squeezes tight*

Oh! OH. This is brilliant! I liked them all but the Saminator and Fast and Fierce bits are my favorite.

God, "It had to be you" part made me nostalgic. How young and careless they were! All those smiles and pranks and looks.

Thank you very much!

And it is so nostalgic going back to those early seasons. They did a lot more smiling at each other in those days...

Thanks for dropping by. :D

I really think this turned out PERFECT!

I can't even say why. But it looks all so smooth and right and the music is perfect. It looks like a lot of work went into this. It's flawless in every way!:D

editet to mention that of course the YT version is blocked in Germany.

Thank you darlin'!

I'm thrilled you thought so. *BG*

It is quite a bit of work - but I always have so much fun making these it doesn't really feel like it. Though it take a lot of time, which is why I think I procrastinated for long before I made it.

Ahhhh.... I wondered where it was blocked. I got a message from YT about content but it didn't tell me where it was blocked. I assumed Germany was one place... :(

*smishes* Thanks for your feedback.

You're the only person that gets me to watch Supernatural. :)

Question. The curtain sequence. Is that a file I could get my hands on? I actually have something I'm working on that neds a curtain opening.
17th-May-2011 11:36 am (UTC)
Hee... thank you. (And I'm seriously impressed that you've even vidded the show!)

I'll have to ask maichan about the curtain footage. That's come from her. I'm sure she'll give me the intel. I'll let you know..

Thanks for popping in. <33

'Bout time this happened:D Saminator and Cracked are my favourites (great clip use!) but I LOVED spotting MBV, House of Wax, and your previous SPN at the Movies posters on the wall.
Great job, hun. Now off I go to give Christel some love <3

'Bout time this happened:D

Hee... like 2 years in the making.

I am so glad you liked Cracked... I figure you have to know the movie to understand the references. But I love that Show chose to use those angles and close ups to directly homage that film.

And YAY! You spotted those other posters?! How cool is maichan?!. She suggested that idea to me and I'm like DO IT! She's totally responsible for that. I love it.

17th-May-2011 12:50 pm (UTC)
WOOOOWWWWW!!! Ash and maichan808 this is fantastic! Thanks for all the nostalgia, bromance, gore, CARS, and just all of it. The movie posters are perfect!

*claps wildly*
17th-May-2011 02:02 pm (UTC)
Yay! Thanks so much.... :DD

And YES re the posters. You can imagine the glee I experienced each time maichan sent me one.

17th-May-2011 12:53 pm (UTC)
I loved those, this is definitely going down as one of my favourites :)
17th-May-2011 02:04 pm (UTC)
Thank you sweetie! And a favourite?! *beams*
17th-May-2011 01:09 pm (UTC)
So so SO amazing. I LOVED all the fluid, circular movement in the dramatic one (Waking the Dead, I think?) in particular. I think that was my favorite. I'm just so in awe over how you pick just EXACTLY the right moments and then edit them so flawlessly to evoke the feel you're going for. INCREDIBLE.
17th-May-2011 02:11 pm (UTC)
Thank you! I am so glad you liked Waking Death... it's probably the one I am most proud of - mostly because it's a style of editing I really haven't done before.

Thanks so much for your feedback. :D
