My hubby never ceases to amaze me...

Impala Art
If you've been around here awhile (going back a few years now), you'll be aware of some of the...um... trials my hubby and I have been through with regards to my fandom activities.

It took a while for me to find the right balance between family life and fandom stuff (but hey, it was a new toy and I had to play with it A LOT!). He still poo poos my show and makes rather insulting comments about it. His favourite is calling the impala the "invisible car". (ok, so he may have a point. But still).

Well. Look what he just bought me. Ordered from eBay! (which means he thought about it!)

Oh man. It's makes me laugh. And want to hug him extra hard. He also bought me John Winchester's Journal for my birthday a while back. (I think he secretly loves the show and just won't admit it..*g*)

I can't believe it's Friday (my time) again. Which of course means new show tomorrow. I haven't A CLUE what we're in for but I CAN NOT WAIT! \o/

Ohhhhh! I have one of those on my desk! *g* Give your hubby a big high-five for getting you that!

*high fives him* I can't stop grinning when I look at it. :D

Yay! I love to see folks comment on their struggles trying to balance fandom and real-life, but clearly you have achieved that balance!
12th-Nov-2011 06:42 am (UTC)
Yeah. We've reached a good place. It took both of us working at it. Also, it took us both by surprise. This new thing called strike>obsession</strike> fandom.

Hey I have that car sitting on a little shelf beside my desk in my computer (aka fangirl) room!

That is so cool hubby bought it for you.
12th-Nov-2011 06:43 am (UTC)
Oh you do?! Cool. I'd like a fangirl room. I have the car in my bedroom (next to my SPN desk calendar).
:)

He really has come a long way since then! I'm very happy for you =)

Yeah.. well, we both have. Him to understand and me to ease back. :D

Awww, I love it!
12th-Nov-2011 06:45 am (UTC)
Hee. Me too. I think it means more that it was a surprise gift rather than something I purchased myself. :)

He loves YOU!!!!

(my husband loves the show...it's actually a pretty good guy show. maybe he really does love it and is messing with you)
12th-Nov-2011 06:46 am (UTC)
He does!

And your hubby loves it? How awesome. But nah.. he truly can't stand it. He can't watch 2 minutes without making a comment. Hence I always watch it alone.
xx

In mine too!

Awesome!!
Designed my hubby a geeky Star Wars coffee cup - but he would never buy me anything SPN related - had to buy me one of those cars myself (and have Jensen sign it, so everything's good now)
12th-Nov-2011 06:48 am (UTC)
Yay for self designed Star Wars cup! And doublt yay for having the car signed by Jensen. Very cool!
:)
11th-Nov-2011 05:30 pm (UTC)
That is awesome! My hubby bought me one about two years ago and the detail on it is amazing!!
12th-Nov-2011 06:48 am (UTC)
Oh he did!? How wonderful. Our hubbies love us indeed. :)
11th-Nov-2011 05:31 pm (UTC)
Be careful with the side mirror though 'cause it comes off a bit too easily :P
12th-Nov-2011 06:49 am (UTC)
Hee. Ok! (I have a urge to cut out miniature Sam and Dean and put them inside it ;) )
11th-Nov-2011 06:41 pm (UTC)
A very cool gift, my friend. I like how he helps you balance things..*g*
12th-Nov-2011 06:50 am (UTC)
Yeah, he does. Well, friendly reminders every now and then. We came to an agreement. He now tells me when I'm spending too much time on stuff.

I need to tell my hubby about yours...

This entry just reminded me that I haven't gotten back to you concerning your wonderful answer to my question how you handle the fandom, right?- I'm so sorry! Because I am thankful that we can talk openly about that matter and that you let me know your thoughts and problems. And I should have told you that.

Insulting comments- high five. Though when I told my hubby that he hurt me with it, too, he tried to reign himself in. But these day I don't let him watch with me anymore anyway- I would spend more attention to him than to the episode, and I would be nervous about that. But he accepts my retreat and leaves me in my room until I come back (and sometimes he dries my tears after all). And since this season started he asks me every time how I liked the episode- and he really wants to know! Improvement! Hope! Threesome! ...erm... no. Scratch that.

Happy episode watching! :-)

It took a little while for us to get here. I think in the beginning it was just so new and came as a surprise to both of us. We just didn't handle it well.

Now he's used to it and I think because he can see how happy it makes me he's better with it. And I have to give too of course. Which is cool.

And if your hubby is asking what you thought of the episode that is definitely a win! :DD
11th-Nov-2011 06:52 pm (UTC)
Ooh, very cool!
12th-Nov-2011 06:53 am (UTC)
Indeed it is! :D

Don't you just love presents.

And yes, it's Friday!

It's time for Fringe! Right? Fringe.

Oh, you're talking about that other show... :)
12th-Nov-2011 06:55 am (UTC)
I do! (I think he may have done that so I wouldn't give him a hard time about the 5 model NASA rockets that came in the mail for himself).

Hee! Yes Fringe. I must get back into that. Watched the first ep and enjoyed it. Haven't had a chance to watch more yet.

:)
