Tumblr recs?

With a little extra holiday time on my hands I've been exploring Tumblr a little more. (Is it just me or is LJ fairly quiet these days?) I'm trying to get used to it (drooling over all the pruty). It always takes me a while to understand new sites. If you have a Tumblr and I'm not already following you please let me know. (REALLY!) I have no idea where to start when looking for blogs to follow. I'm keen on not being spoiled (which might prove a problem I think) so blogs that aren't too spoilery would be great. I'll take recommendations as well. :)

I think you are all ready following my non-fandom tumblr but but fandom one is the aptly named mithborien.tumblr.com

And at least for SPN, I think you will be all right with spoilers since I think we tend to end up watching it at about the same time anyway.

Oh and fyi, I can't follow you back on my Mithborien one because it's not my main tumblr. So if you see any activity from museblast.tumblr.com, that's me as well! I'm slightly paranoid that people will think I'm rude otherwise :(

I don't know if this helps but I normally read Tumblr by adding the RSS feeds in to Google Reader, and not through the Tumblr dashboard. That way I can see who has posted, how much they have posted and be sure I haven't missed anyone.

You can archive vids on AO3 in the sense that it allows embeds and there are vid related tags. They are not really catering to vids at present although I do believe that is one of their future plans. I just had all my fanfiction up there all ready and then decided to put my vids up as well just to have another place to put them. But I am pretty sure you wouldn't get the same traffic on AO3 as you would on LJ.

At the moment all that about Tumblr is over my head (/o\) but I'm sure I'll work it out at some point. At the moment I don't really know who I'd add to a RSS feed. I'm not even sure Tumblr is a forum I can get into...but I want to try it.

Re AO3... it wouldn't be so much about traffic but rather just archiving. I was part of an auction a while back raising funds to have vid archiving on AO3. I was curious if they had got that up and running.

I am thoroughly confused by Tumblr, though I did manage to create one with the same name as here, but have never posted or even reblogged (whatever that actually means...) anything. I need like a week of free time to just go figure the damn place out! Not bloody likely, alas.

Am gonna go vote now! :)

yeah.. me too. Though others seem to have the hang of it so... dammit! I want to too...

I created one about a year ago and never did anything with it. I've since been lurking about the place and there's a lot of pretty to be seen. I just gotta figure out the etiquette of the place.

*waves* I'll follow you! I don't do spoilers on show, but if you watch TVD I tend to post stuff about it right after it airs. I don't think you do though :) are you ash48 on there too?

I'm following you already. I think you added my food photography tumblr, but not my fandom one.

You can install tumblr savior to block posts tagged "spoilers" but that only works when people are kind enough to tag their posts in the first place.

well if you are keen on not being spoiled you should definitely get the user script tumblr saviour (for which you also need grease monkey first, I don't know how knowledgeable you are about these things, but I'm horrible at it and I still managed it, because they are easy to find step by step explanations all around ;-))

with that you can "blacklist" certain words and most people are pretty good at tagging their spoilers

(I'm totally going to be following you btw, because I need to follow more spn blogs to follow but be warned if you think about following back that I post a lot of glee related stuff right now,so if that gives you hives... XD)

hi! thanks for the info. its good to know there are ways of blocking spoliers.

hee.. weel, Glee does give me the hives a bit. . but sometimes i like to see stuff. i enjoyed the musical numbers every now and then. :)
