Dean's Movie Meme

How do you rate?

Scorecard

After listing all of Dean's movie references recently I was curious to see how many of Dean's movies I've watched. I've made this for purely personal reasons, but if you are curious too you could give it a go (I am totally pinching the TV meme idea I saw going around).

Bold the ones you've seen.

Titles with 3 or more movies (James Bond, Star Wars etc) decide if you've seen enough of them to consider it a point. If there's a movie with a remake that isn't listed (i.e. The Parent Trap), either one counts.

Dean is quoted as seeing every Clint Eastwood movie. He stars in 42 movies. Include if you've seen a lot of his films (say over 20…).

I haven't seen Dirty Dancing! Well, not all of it. I've seen some scenes but I've never sat down to watch it! (I'm not into romantic films that much…;D).

91 is pretty darn good! And YES! You are Sam. I almost put that in that score actually. :D

I'm glad you enjoyed. :)
8th-Nov-2013 01:12 pm (UTC)
59/153. That's just sad.
8th-Nov-2013 01:50 pm (UTC)
Oh that is sad…you and Dean will have trouble figuring out what to watch. You'll have to keep yourselves busy some other way…;D

And I can't get that link to work. I have no idea why. I've tried a few different combinations. Try this: http://www.supernaturalwiki.com/index.php?title=Dean%27s_Movie_%26_TV_references (It's in Wiki's Library under Pop Culture).

So I need to do this on something other than my iPad, but I think I'm in the 105 ballpark.

And Any Which Way You Can and Every Which Way But Loose are Clint Eastwood movies. Do they get special mention because Dean specifically loves "the Clyde" movies?
8th-Nov-2013 01:53 pm (UTC)
Yes! That's why they get a special mention. :D Any movie that is specially referenced I have included them. Actually, I should have put Dr. No as that was specially referenced in the James Bond film (but forgot to…).

And yay 105! Date night! :D
8th-Nov-2013 01:52 pm (UTC)
Wow, I've seen...27...

But there are much better things to do than watch movies...read books?
8th-Nov-2013 01:56 pm (UTC)
wow…only 27? Now I'm curious which 27. I take it you're not into horror, action or thrillers yeah? Looks like you'll have to find something else to do with Dean…;D
8th-Nov-2013 02:02 pm (UTC)
95. Maybe I could hang with Sam instead.

:)
8th-Nov-2013 02:05 pm (UTC)
I think Sam would be around 95 too. And he'd be fighting Dean over what movies to watch also. You could keep each other company. :)
8th-Nov-2013 02:33 pm (UTC)
103/153 -- I GET TO SCORE WITH DEAN? sweet.
8th-Nov-2013 02:53 pm (UTC)
You sure do! I think we'd be great buddies with Dean..;)
8th-Nov-2013 03:14 pm (UTC)
Fun! I only got to 64; my list is here. http://caranfindel.livejournal.com/4028.html
8th-Nov-2013 03:26 pm (UTC)
Hi, I'm glad you found it fun. :) So looks like you'll spend some time arguing over which move to watch and maybe settle for something entirely different altogether. Maybe a nice drive in the Impala…;D
8th-Nov-2013 03:32 pm (UTC)
I got 73... oh well. Maybe it would be fun arguing with him over what movie to watch. LOL.

Did Dean quote Monty Python & the Holy Grail? I'm trying to remember.. I love that one so much, you'd think I would have instantly picked up on it.
8th-Nov-2013 04:03 pm (UTC)
Hi! And yep..l you get to be Sammy and argue over what movie to watch.

And according to the SuperWiki references I used Dean's never quoted from the Holy Grail (shame, cause I reckon he's seen all the MP movies ).
8th-Nov-2013 03:39 pm (UTC)
113. I need a life
8th-Nov-2013 03:41 pm (UTC)
+ Clint Eastwood
8th-Nov-2013 04:36 pm (UTC)
I've seen 124/153. Yay, date night with Dean and you!! I'll bring the gummy worms and popcorn. :)
9th-Nov-2013 12:53 am (UTC)
OH wow! Date night all together!! I'll bring some pie and beer! :D
8th-Nov-2013 04:42 pm (UTC)
I just had a thought - didn't he once mention Alien? The stomach bursting scene??? (Or maybe that was something I read in a fanfic...damn the lines get blurred sometimes don't they!)
9th-Nov-2013 12:55 am (UTC)
Hmmmm, not that I came across. I only used the reference that already exist on the Wiki (didn't actually go through every transcript), so chances are it could be there somewhere. It does sound like something Dean would say, but I can't place it in my memory. Hee…and yes. fanfic and canon do get blurred. :D

(I'd love there to be an Alien reference).
8th-Nov-2013 05:10 pm (UTC)
111! And I haven't seen The Godfather either. I keep meaning to do that.
btw, you mentioned there are no musicals on the list, but Jesus Christ Superstar is there.
9th-Nov-2013 12:59 am (UTC)
111! Date night! (and yeah, I realised the JCS was a musical but I was thinking more like Mary Poppins kind of musicals). Also, I actually don't think Dean would have watched JCS - it's probably one of those instances where "superstar" is famous. I think he says "Anti-Christ Superstar" - something like that. But who knows…I put it in there anyway…;D)

Thanks so much for your help! <33
8th-Nov-2013 06:39 pm (UTC)

79/153 unless I get to count some Dirty Harrys and spaghetti westerns that aren't individually listed (and "It's a Wonderful Life," which I don't believe for a minute Dean wouldn't have seen, no matter what the writer of that partic episode tried to push over on us), in which case it still won't reach the next level. So Dean and I will be arguing over what movie to watch. Basically, as long as it's not a horror film, we'll do okay. :-)
9th-Nov-2013 01:02 am (UTC)
Yeah, I didn't list all the Clint Eastwood movies - just so many. I think a few points could be added for those…;D

I also think he would have watched It's a Wonderful life. If he hasn't you can show it to him on your date night. No arguing…just make him watch it because it's a MUST SEE movie (imho).

xx
8th-Nov-2013 09:00 pm (UTC)
I've seen around 95. Not bad...
9th-Nov-2013 01:02 am (UTC)
No bad at all…;D

Oh lordy! That's almost resuscitation territory (lucky you!). I did actually wonder how many of those references would pass some viewers by. They certainly use a lot of them.

Thanks for playing!
